Introducing the New Sweethearts Uniform!

The official uniform is as impressive as the Sweethearts themselves.  Donald Wells is known for designing cutting edge costumes for all the teams he has worked with. Our uniform is no exception.  He worked with top dance apparel designer Deb Erickson the owner and designer of The Line Up, to create our unique eye catching look.

Snowball Express IV Brings Holiday Cheer to the Children
of Fallen Service Members

The Snowball Express Organization held its annual event December 10th-14th in Dallas, TX.  This year was a sports theme held at the brand new Cowboys stadium.  Current and retired NFL players came out to support Snowball Express. They spent time with the children, and held youth sports clinics.  The Sweethearts were invited to host a youth cheerleading clinic, perform our variety show, and open for the Lt Dan Band.  Eight Sweethearts along with Sweathearts' Co-Founder Tonya Helman made the journey to Dallas for this very special gathering.  It was a memorable event with sports and cheer clinics, variety shows, concerts, and gifts for the families. We were so honored to assist Snowball Express in making this an unforgetable experience for the snowball children.

Sweetheart Amy sums up her experience at the
Snowball Express event:

“Well I have to say after participating in my first event as a Sweetheart I am hooked!  Snowball Express IV was a huge success and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it.  It was truly an honor to have met and spent time with all the “Snowball” kids and families.  Their strength and spirit is so impressive and inspiring, and it was my privilege to put smiles on their faces, and help them have some fun.  The organization goes to great lengths to make these families feel welcome and to provide them with a support network.  A special thanks to everyone who attended and to those that make this event happen year after year.  All the hard work and dedication put forth is very much appreciated.   I am so proud to be a part of Sweethearts for Soldiers and to have had the opportunity to attend this event.   My experience with Snowball Express was nothing short of amazing and will stay with me forever.”

Sweethearts Team Up with Operation Graditude

On November 28th, 2009 Sweethearts Tiler and Taylor spent the day in Van Nuys, California in support of Operation Gratitude.  Their mission was to assemble care packages to be sent to our troops for the holidays.  The Sweethearts were among the hundreds of volunteers packed into the National Guard Armory assembling care packages.  These packages included Girl Scout cookies, candy, body wash, and chapstick. Hopefully these little gifts from home will brighten the deployed soldiers lives.

Sweethearts’ Busy on
The East Coast!

Operation Rising Star aired its 4th season finale in November, crowning Lisa Pratt out of Ft. Carson, Colorado the 2009 winner.  Second place went to CPT Donald Williamson out of Bamberg, Germany, and third place went to AIC Jamie Jarmin out of Ft. Leonardwood, Kansas. Operation Rising Star is the “American Idol” competition for the military. The show aired on the Armed Forces Network and the Pentagon Channel.  Sweetheart GeNienne hosted the show for the second year in a row.  This year the Sweethearts appeared on the show, and headed to D.C. to sign calendars and cheer on the contestants.           On top of their appearance on the show, the Sweethearts were asked to perform on the Fox 5 morning show in Washington D.C.  Donald Wells, Sweethearts' Vice President of Marketing, was on hand to talk about our mission.

After the appearance on Fox, the Sweethearts joined USO Metro and visited wounded soldiers at Bethesda Naval Hospital. They took pictures, signed autographs and shook hands of our heroic soldiers.

Sarah

Being a Sweetheart for Soldiers is the highest honor of my life.  I come from a long line of military so being able to tour the war zone, using my God given gifts to bring smiles to my heroes, is me just doing my part in my family!  I am such a fan of our troops and will never tire of cheering them on!  Since signing on with the Sweethearts for Soldiers, I have been to three Middle Eastern countries and done stateside appearances entertaining our troops as well.  I am so excited to be a Sweetheart again in 2010.  I know our organization will continue to work hard to boost morale for all of our service men and women!

“We are truly blessed to have men and women who are willing to put “Service before Self” and risk their lives to defend our freedom.  For me, being married to a man who has served our country selflessly for over 20 years has truly inspired me.  I have seen our military 'family' within the Air Force go the extra mile to provide support to one another to the endure the hardships that come along with our endeavor for peace.  I am honored to have the opportunity as a 2010 Sweetheart to show our military families how much we appreciate their sacrifice.”
